Hi, I'm Samantha, aka Mrs H.

I live in Cornwall with my husband Dus and our unfortunately-nicknamed daughter Elvis. I write sewing patterns for bags and love seeing what you create with my designs!

I'm the author of The Complete Bag Making Masterclass, host of Bag of the Month Club, and host of The Bag Retreat. In 2020 I took over management of Swoon Patterns when Swoon's founder, Alicia, decided to take a step back from designing sewing patterns.

My goal is to create skillbuilding sewing patterns that will support you as you take your bag making to the next level. All my patterns come with step-by-step instructions and photos, and many now have accompanying sew along videos on my YouTube channel. I also have a members-only Patreon channel dedicated to helping you to learn and practice tricky bagmaking techniques - 'Bag making made simple by Samantha Hussey', and my team and I are available for any bagmaking questions either by email or on social media.

You will also find my free patterns and free tutorials here on this website - although please do be aware that many of these are from some time ago so techniques may have evolved since I first wrote these. And you'll find lots of ideas, tips, and inspiration here on my blog. 

My team and I love seeing how your take on my sewing patterns, so please do feel free to send us a photo by email, or pop a post up in my support group on Facebook. You can also get in touch through the contact form located here. My team are located all around the world, but we mostly keep to UK hours on weekdays, so there may be a short delay in our replies.
