Join Mrs H and other bag making enthusiasts for a relaxing and fun weekend
in the beautiful South Wales countryside! 

The Bag Retreat is ideal for bag makers of all abilities with special retreat bag patterns to choose from. There will be skill builder sessions throughout the weekend and support whenever you need it so that you can try out new techniques with help on hand! The retreat is being held at Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Spa - a magical hotel with a contemporary feel throughout!  

Cwrt Bleddyn is located in the midst of Monmouthshire countryside midway between the historic towns of Caerleon and Usk. As well as dedicated space for sewing, the hotel will also provide meals and snacks throughout the day. 

When is it: 

You can arrive any time on the first day (Tuesday or Friday depending on your retreat), and you can stay until 2.30pm on the last day (Thursday or Sunday depending on your retreat), making it three fun days of sewing!

2020 retreats:

• Shared occupancy: £400
• Single occupancy: £450

*Skill builder sessions will be run by Mrs H, so in the super unlikely event that something out of her control (such as breaking both of her arms!) pops up, these will be substituted

What's the schedule?:
You can begin sewing at any time on day 1 after 10am.  We'll set up in the large communal sewing room, browse the pop-up haberdashery shop, enjoy refreshments mid afternoon, and get down to some serious bagineer bonding!

We'll dine in the hotel restaurant in the evening on a 2 course meal (we can arrange for dietary requirements in advance), and then you can either return to your sewing, or unwind in the hotel bar.

The restaurant

Wednesday/Saturday will start with a cooked breakfast before we get back to sewing! With 2 retreat patterns to choose from, you're sure to be busy, or you can bring your own patterns to work on while you're there.

Everyone will be working at their own pace, but if you find you need a little help, don't worry, we'll have a few break-out skill builder sessions throughout the day, and of course, help is always available! 

Wednesday/Saturday evening we'll sit down to yet another yummy 2 course dinner, followed by sewing or relaxing in the bar.

Thursday/Sunday being our last day you can check out of your comfy hotel bedroom before returning to your sewing. We'll enjoy a buffet lunch before finally finishing off any extra sewing for the weekend, packing up and starting our journeys home. If you wish to stay the Sunday night, after the retreat has finished, we can help arrange for your room to be kept for an extra night.

If you'd like to join us, you can currently buy tickets at full price or with an instalment plan. Instalment plans will be available right up until the month before, they'll just be shorter..
