  • Okie doke lovelies, it's time to finish those Nappy bags up and get using them!

If you've chosen to add feet then you'll want to cut a piece of bag base 4.5" x 13.5" (11cm x 35cm), centre it over the base of the bag and mark where the holes you've previously made are. Then cut out the cross in the plastic base.

  • Hello lovelies,

We're nearly finished with our Nappy bags (or travel bags!), don't forget to link up to the Facebook groups to be in with a chance to win the prizes!

Now we're ready to attach our lining main pieces, with pockets already attached. If you've got any zipped pockets pinned out of the way unpin them now. Open the zip fully and then turn the outer of your bag inside out.

  • Hi everyone, how are we all getting on with our Nappy bags? Lots have already finished theirs and are now using them as travel bags, diaper bags, large handbags!

Today I'm going to show you a few more photos for your linings.

You should have done your lining zipped pocket easily enough with my extra tutorial on how to add a zipped pocket, or even chosen to add a decorative zip to your zipped pocket.

I've got a tutorial on my blog how to add elasticated pockets too, everything you need to complete your lining!

I'm going to show you in a bit more detail how to attach your elasticated pockets for the Nappy bag.

  • Hi lovelies,

Today we'll be finishing off the outers of our nappy bags. If you haven't bought your copy yet please pop over to the store and don't forget to use the discount code SEWALONG15 for your discount!

I know I keep reminding you, but THIS is where it's really important that your centres are marked so if you haven't already done it, do it now before we go any further.

Prepare your outer front and back by tucking the handles inside the pockets to keep them out of the way. For the front pocket just lift the flap and pop the handle in. Don't push the handle right in, you don't want to get the handle caught in your stitching along the bottom of the front panel.

  • Okie doke lovelies, we're all ready to get these gussets attached now and don't worry, you've already done the hard bit!
Firstly, if you haven't already marked the centres in the seam allowances of the raw edges, do it now!
Lay the outer base gusset right sides up with one short edge facing you. Lay the lining gusset on top right side down. Line up the short edges and if you need to trim the short edge of the zipped gusset slightly then do that now. Don't trim the zip!Read More
