So, this lovely lady who asked me to make her a bag....I know her from Christian chat and her chat name is Bubbles....so the obvious name for this little baggy is the Bubbles bag :)

We had a chat and she opted for a two handled tote bag. It needed to have a zip closure and she wanted it in a gorgeous chocolate brown. Other than that (and her loving turquoise) the choice was mine. Seeing as I personally love pockets....I added three. One zipped, two slip. I also added a key hookey thing for her to clip her keys onto so they're easily accessible.

Here is the final bag.

It's made from a heavy weight woven chocolate brown fabric with a removable corsage. That way Bubbs can change it or use it on her jacket if she'd rather.

For the handles I thought it was rather boring to have them all one piece so I altered the pattern to include these antique brass coloured O rings. They're super cute and you're able to hook bag charms onto them really easily for that extra bit of bling!

I added matching antique brass coloured bag feet to the bottom to give it a bit more stability, class and help it to stand proud on grubby floors!

Close up of the corsage. It's on a brooch pin so can be removed.

Usually I like to pop magnetic clasps into my bags but Bubbles was keen on having a zip to keep her treasures secure so I fitted a recessed zipper with a bright turquoise bit of ribbon as a pull.

Inside the bag is lined with quilting cotton. I think it's Makower but the part of the selvedge I kept so I could tell you only has the designer's name, not the design name....oops! The selvedge says: Created by Renee Nanneman of Need'L Love.

I used a bright turquoise zipper for the zipped pocket and a matching blue key hook on a dangler made from the same cotton. Dangler's it's technical name of course. :)

What do you think?

p.s. if you like this bag you're in luck, I'll be sharing a tutorial for a more basic version over on Unfortunately Oh! in a couple of weeks time. I'll keep you posted.

p.p.s. Hope she likes it! If not I'll list it in the shop hee hee!
