Alternative Flap for the Leading Lady Captivating Clutch

Hi lovelies,

I decided it was time for a new Captivating Clutch!

This time I took inspiration from a vintage bag I found on eBay to alter the top flap into a different shape to fit the Emmaline Bags Edge Trim in Medium B. I'd seen this vintage bag when I was designing the Captivating Clutch originally but didn't get time to add it as an alternative.

I also left out the inner workings of the clutch to make one larger interior space. To do this I just omitted the Zipped divider as this also forms two of the slip pockets on the front of the bag. As you can see below, you still get a large slip pocket on the front lining of the bag and a zipped pocket on the back of the main lining.

I used Essex linen with metallic threads running through it, although I didn't have quite enough so teamed it with some metallic swirls and some solid black.

I intend to use this bag as a crossbody rather than as a clutch so I chose to put the strap tabs on the back of the clutch rather than inside under the top flap as per the pattern. Here's my version with the top flap lifted up so that you can see the hidden slip pocket between the flaps.
