  • So....a lovely lady friend of mine had a little bag from me and loved it so much she asked if I could make her one in the same design but out of some Cath Kidston oilcloth.

I of course said yes, which led to a whole world of sewing I'd never encountered. Oilcloth....eek! Of course I had to practise by sewing a little pouch.

Generally I didn't find it too difficult as long as I remembered that I couldn't pin it, iron it or feed it through the machine very easily....good....great.

  • So, this lovely lady who asked me to make her a bag....I know her from Christian chat and her chat name is Bubbles....so the obvious name for this little baggy is the Bubbles bag :)

We had a chat and she opted for a two handled tote bag. It needed to have a zip closure and she wanted it in a gorgeous chocolate brown. Other than that (and her loving turquoise) the choice was mine. Seeing as I personally love pockets....I added three. One zipped, two slip. I also added a key hookey thing for her to clip her keys onto so they're easily accessible.

    Here is the final bag.

  • So, remember the bow pleat bag?

I made one, editted it, made another, editted it again and finally made another and then I was happy with it?

  • I've got a friend. She's a lovely friend. She's very talented and makes jewellery that I drool over frequently!

She asked me to make her a bag. A messenger bag with many pockets, so I did. She said I could photo it along the way for a pattern so I thought rather than write yet ANOTHER messenger bag pattern I'd just write it up as a tutorial for you to save you all some pennies!

It's quite a long tutorial so I'll be splitting it up this week. Here's the finished bag.

  • Finally, Monday has arrived and I'm showing you the bags from my pattern testers! Hurrah!

My testers loved this pattern, some of them emailing me at 3am (my time) to tell me that they loved it! Thanks for that Susie....:)

Without further ado, here they are. Links to their blogs are below.

Leslie, from the American Sewing Guild in Salt Lake City made this adorable romantic version which was promptly taken off her hands within hours of her finishing it! The girl got skillz!
